BIOGRAPHY

Although born and raised in the Midwest, Susan Lenz has always traveled, spending much time in Austria and Italy. These experiences have been translated into a love of textiles, textures, and cultural diversity. She has studied under several internationally renowned fiber artists from Great Britain and been juried into numerous national exhibits. With needle and thread and collage techniques, Susan hopes to convey a feeling of appreciation toward all things old and rustic as well as adorned and exotic.

Birthdate: June 24, 1959.

Education:
BA in Medieval and Renaissance Studies from Ohio State University in 1980. Married: Dr. J. Steven Dingman. Children: Mathias Lenz Dingman (1988) and J. Alexander Dingman (1990). Employment: Owner of Mouse House, Inc., est. 1987

Experience
Started to embroider in 1986 and studied under British fiber artists Valerie Campbell-Harding, Jean Littlejohn, and Jan Beaney. Listed on the South Carolina Arts Commission roster of approved artists. Represented by the Artisan Center at the Sumter Museum of Art, Sumter, SC; the South Carolina Artisan Center in Walterboro, SC; and The Mouse House, Columbia, SC.
