BIOGRAPHY
Kirkland Thomas Smith, a native of South Carolina, earned a BA degree from the University of South Carolina. She began her painting career after graduation, focusing primarily on portrait work. Recently, she received her classical training at Studio Escalier in France, where she studied drawing and painting. She meets weekly with other artists to paint from live models, in the classical tradition and is now also working on a series of "3-Dimensional Paintings" created from non-recyclable materials. Kirkland lives in Columbia with her husband and four children. |
